I remember getting IV nutrient therapy 20 years ago in school. I was the preferred test patient for all things vein-related at 5'2", 100 pounds and always freezing cold in Seattle. I was the difficult stick and everyone wanted to practice on me — so fun.
We started with a Myers Cocktail in school and continue to offer it as an introduction to new IV therapy patients.
The Myers Cocktail
In the 1950s, Dr. John Myers was well known for treating difficult conditions like fatigue, migraines, allergies, and chronic pain with an IV mixture of B-vitamins, magnesium, and vitamin C. His treatments were so popular and successful they remain part of both conventional and integrative care today.
Since the cocktails are made of vitamins and minerals, they tend to be well tolerated. Since treatment is administered intravenously — bypassing the digestive system — higher concentrations of the vitamins are more easily absorbed and bioavailable to the body.
Why IV Therapy Works for Me
Personally, I have benefited from IV therapy for two main reasons: I have a compound heterozygous MTHFR mutation slowing down my ability to absorb B-vitamins, and I am chronically dehydrated. I am one of those "never thirsty types" and it is a constant battle to stay hydrated.
Many people have absorption issues from genetic variants or, more commonly, from digestive issues. Eating a clean and nutrient-dense diet is the goal for everyone — but if your digestion is not optimal, your diet is only as healthy as what you are able to absorb. Bypassing digestion and going straight to your cells is an excellent way to jump-start your health and give your digestive system a break.
For me, when I am not utilizing nutrients like B-vitamins, I get anxious and overwhelmed, my sleep suffers, and I get sore, achy muscles and joints. IV nutrients provide a sense of calmness and I am able to work out and recover.
Hydration & Aging
As we age we start to lose the ability to retain fluid in our cells. Hormones play a significant role in keeping cells hydrated, our joints lubricated, and our skin elastic. As hormones decrease, it becomes more difficult to stay hydrated — dry mouth, sagging skin, creaking joints, and the constant need to go to the bathroom.
At this stage, minerals become important so we can actually hold on to water and hydration becomes effective again. For me, aging coupled with always forgetting to drink water creates brain fog and muscle tension. IV therapy reminds me how important it is to stay hydrated because I feel like a new person when I have the fluids my body needs.
We start with a Myers for everyone — but because we do medical IVs here at Remedy, we are able to customize your specific nutrients and go above and beyond a Myers as indicated for each patient.

New Ketamine Treatment Options — The Ripple Effect Series
A Low Dose Ketamine Group Experience
This group experience is offered on a bi-monthly basis and provides a shared opportunity in a joyful and uplifted environment. Included is some breathwork, mantra, or gentle movement followed by a low dose of ketamine experienced while in a long, relaxing savasana.
A low dose of ketamine does not always have a psychedelic effect. However, it may engender feelings of love, compassion, and forgiveness as well as a more open mind and elevated mood.
May the shift in your energy extend outwards to all who you encounter — creating a beautiful and positive ripple effect.
Meditation 3.0
Pavan will often advise: "meditate like your life depends on it!" Join her for an experience that will delve into the why as well as the how. We all have different ways we get into a calm or relaxed state — and this is directly correlated to what type of meditation will be most impactful for us.
